Type BA – Verifiable Backflow Preventer with Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ Valve)

Issue 3 of this Information and Guidance Note, in both the printed version and the electronic PDF version which appears on this website, contains some minor technical errors which are detailed below. These errors will be corrected in any future revision of this Information and Guidance Note. 

Drinks vending machines with CO₂ are considered Fluid Category 3 and  not Fluid Category 4 as detailed in Table 1 (protection matrix) on page 3. This entry should be deleted from Table1.

Water treatment plant or softeners using salt are considered to be Fluid Category 4 not Fluid Category 5 as detailed in Table 1 (protection matrix) on page 3.
