REGULATIONS REVIEW DELAYED
The Water Fittings Regulations review process started by Defra in
2008 slowed during 2009. The change of government means that
continuation of the review depends on the new ministers.
Peter Jiggins of
the Water Availability and Quality department of Defra (formerly
Water Supply & Regulation) said that a Water Fittings Regulations
review was probably some time off, as it would have to await the
outcome of a white paper on broad environmental perspectives to be
published in April 2011 and a water white paper which will
identify more detailed proposals for the water sector. Water
efficiency is a key policy area which will be reviewed, as
Government wanted to ensure that any proposed changes would be
effective, |
