The Water Regulations Advisory Scheme publishes guidance information
relating to the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 in
England and Wales and the Scottish Water Byelaws 2004.
Many of the publications produced by the Scheme are
available on this website in electronic PDF format for which you will
need a copy of Adobe Acrobat version 4.0 or later. To download a free
copy of Adobe Acrobat click the link on the left. The publications are
also available in hard copy directly from the Scheme or your local water
supplier.
The list of publications includes the
Water
Regulations Guide which includes the wording of the Regulations and
Scottish Byelaws, the DETR Guidance Clauses and Water Industry
commentary. The Guide replaces the popular Water Byelaws Guide which
related to the previous water byelaws in England, Wales, Scotland and
Northern Ireland.
The
Water
Fittings and Materials Directory contains a list of fittings and
materials approved by the Scheme for connection to the water supply in
buildings.
The Scheme's Information and Guidance Notes (IGNs) and
Approved Installation Methods (AIMs) contain information for those designing and installing water
systems.
