The WRAS Board oversees the management of WRAS Ltd and is primarily responsible for:
- determining the company’s strategic objectives and policies;
- monitoring progress towards achieving the objectives and policies;
- appointing senior management;
- accounting for the company’s activities to its subscribers.
The Board of Directors is made up of senior managers from nine separate water supply companies, plus the Managing Director and Company Secretary of WRAS Ltd. Directors are appointed for three years by member companies. Water UK also has the right to appoint one director. Water UK can also recommend that a director is appointed as a chairman, although the decision to appoint a chairman is made by the WRAS Board.
