Pipes buried within the boundary of a property must comply with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations, Byelaws in Scotland, and should be colour-coded for identification purposes, whereas the Water Supplier’s pipes buried in the road are subject to the colour-coding conventions in the National Joint Utilities Group voluntary code of practice.
