Update RPZ tester training

If you are a WRAS listed RPZ tester you should have already heard from us about changes to the current Issue 1 of AIM 08-01, for installing and testing RPZ Valves.  Issue 1 of the AIM is being replaced in January 2021 with Issue 2.  Water suppliers through WRAS are offering free update training to Issue 2 for all current RPZ testers.

37% of current RPZ testers have still to sign up for the conversion training.

If you have not heard from WRAS it may be because the details we hold are not up to date. If you opted to appear in the public search you can check your details here – otherwise contact us as soon as possible.

Keeping Approved RPZ Tester status

After the transition period (7th January 2021) water companies will no longer recognise testers who only have qualifications based on Issue 1.

RPZ Testers who want to keep their approved tester status and continue to test RPZ valves beyond the transition period next year must get their qualifications updated to Issue 2.

This update training provides testers the opportunity to update their qualification, but must be completed before November 2020.  After November this training will no longer be available.

If you miss this opportunity you will have to attend a new recognised qualification course through a commercial training provider. These courses must include up to date information on the new Issue 2 of the AIM and its requirements.
