WRAS response to Coronavirus - 13 May 2020

The safety and well-being of our team, our customers and our suppliers is the number one priority for WRAS. Like any responsible business, we have been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation both within the UK and globally.

We wanted to provide an update on some of the steps we have taken, in line with the latest government advice.

We will continue to monitor and adapt any of our processes as needed as the situation continues to evolve. In the meantime, we will  focus all our efforts on acting responsibly and transparently during this period of uncertainty, to ensure we continue to do all the right things to support our people and customers and to maintain our services.

Contacting us

The WRAS office is partially closed and most of our staff are now remote working.

If you have an enquiry you can email on info@wras.co.uk alternatively you can call us on 01495 98 30 10. Please note this is a new number.

Our training

In-line with government advice on social distancing, we have taken the decision to postpone all face to face water regulations training courses until the end ofJune. We hope to rearrange courses as soon as government advice allows this. Those already booked onto courses, will be able to attend a rescheduled course or ask for a refund.

This does not apply to RPZ training, which can be completed remotely. This training will continue as planned. Wherever possible, we will be distributing learning packs electronically.

WIAPS applications and renewals

We are processing applications and renewals as normal. However, for plumber applications, we are unable to arrange induction audits at this time and this may delay applicants becoming approved.

The WRAS approvals scheme

Working with our product approvals group and recognised test laboratories we have put in place new arrangements which have  enabled WRAS to continue approving products. There have been no changes to PAG dates.

WRAS is also able to receive samples for secondary approvals. However, it is taking us slightly longer than usual to process these types of applications.

Applicants should contact their chosen test laboratory to identify if they anticipate any delays in testing.

Further changes

We will continue to monitor and adapt any of our processes as needed as the situation continues to evolve. In the meantime, we will focus all our efforts on acting responsibly and transparently during this period of uncertainty, to ensure we continue to do all the right things to support our people and customers and to maintain our services.

Thank you for your continued support.
